Spanish authorities rescue 64 migrants on Mediterranean crossing
Five-year-old and baby among group reported to be in good health and now in Almería

Spanish rescue vessels rescued 64 undocumented migrants on Tuesday who were attempting to cross the Mediterranean to Spain from North Africa.
The immigrants, including two minors, were found aboard two rickety vessels on the Alboran Sea – the westernmost area of the Mediterranean Sea – and taken to Almería.
Authorities were alerted by their Moroccan counterparts
All aboard were well, Spanish authorities reported.
Spanish authorities were alerted by their Moroccan counterparts, who said a makeshift migrant boat carrying 33 people had departed from Tazarine, west of the Spanish enclave of Melilla.
A helicopter, an airplane and a ship were used in the search, which located an additional vessel with 51 other migrants aboard.
There were 11 women, a five-year-old child and a baby among the rescued group.
Spain is one of the main immigration routes into Europe from Africa.
