AENA sacks first controller over 2010 strike
Two further refuseniks forcibly relocated for participation in stoppage
Spanish airports operator AENA said on Tuesday it had dismissed an air traffic controller in Santiago de Compostela for serious absenteeism committed during the wildcat strike that caused the closure of the country's airspace late last year.
The dismissal is the first related to the December 2010 stoppage, which was finally resolved by the declaration of a state of alert that placed the controllers under military command.
Two other Santiago controllers were also forcibly relocated to Granada and Almería for refusing to work between November 27 and December 3, 2010 after claiming they'd surpassed their legal number of annual workdays.
